The Flash Back
Looking up at the brilliant blue sky; watching as the gentle clouds drift pass her eyes. Laltia was resting on a green hill overlooking a field of wheat. As the sun shined in her face, she lost herself in thought. Lalita was a young woman, yet she had many memories that were out of place for one so young. She was a trained assassin, hire by those who would pay the most; she took heavy tasks upon herself in order to get the job done. She thought to herself: “Is this what my life is all about, must I kill forever? I don’t now if I can bare this grim fate befallen on me.” Wanting to forget her grim fate, her mind went back to the day her life was almost taken from her. Back then, she was less experienced and had not preformed such dire takes that would ready her for the battles she eventually would fight. “That day…” she thought, “I saw him, that man who saved me. If only I knew his name, but he rushed off so quickly.” The very thought of this man made her blush. She knew not the feeling that she felt for this man, but she knew that this mysterious man must be found again. Lalita knew she must seek this stranger. The stranger that had saved her life.
Laltia closed her eyes; through the blackness she was reliving that eventful day. Back then she was very inexperienced, she entered what would be called the Two-Day War. Her home state of Kasacon was under attack by the barbaric Oquedoians to the north. She felt responsible for this battle; for it was her that was assigned the task of killing the Duke of Oquedo. Feeling this way, it was only right for her to join the fight.
It was to be the final day of war. Armed with a sword and two daggers; she was skilled with both. Trained from childhood she knew that she would be a formable opponent for any man. At first it was well; she was dominating all the foes who stood in her way. One by one they were falling.
She fought tirelessly against her seemingly endless amount of foes. During the battle however, her mind began to wander which went against the most basic of teachings from her assassin mentors. Her eyes went wide as she saw a group of no more than ten barbarians charging at her. She felt as if time had stopped, her feet could not move. Lalita was paralyzed where she stood. “What…what is going on? I can’t move! Why can’t I move?” She felt something she had never known before. She felt fear; fear that her life was about to be taken away from her. Lalita felt powerless, her thoughts quickly retreated back into her mind.
Her first kill got her recognized as the best assassin in Kasacon. Since her first kill was someone really important to the government of Oquedo. Unannounced to her that many have tried to kill the person which she was going after. The Kasacon ruler had good reason not of telling her. In fears she may not be up to it.
Before setting off she had to make sure that she looked enough like a wondering traveler thus she beckon a clock to cover most of her face, her trusty daggers, and tarred clothing not made by the common of materials found in her home village of Kasacon; a pouch to carry a few crumbs of food and money.
Reaching the gate of Oquedo, she could see only one guard guarding the gate. “Lucky me, I only have to deal with one guard when I make my escape,” quietly to herself.
Yelling up to the guard to her in; the guard seeing this poor excuse of a person, “What do you want?”
“I am just a warier traveler, may I enter your gate so that I may find a place to rest and wash up.”
The guard realizing that it was a woman gladly sated that she could come in to find an inn. “To easy she thought, Oquedoians sure to let anyone in even me; I am probably the most sorry looking thing that they have seen,” she thought
